Doug Smart is President of Grow Your Sales, LLC. He is a consultant and speaker
who has presented over 1,500 paid speaking engagements around the world.
He is the author/co-author of 15 books, including “Grow
Your Sales by Selling Smarter Not Harder”, “Magnetic Leadership”, “Fantastic Customer Service”, and “303 Solutions for Developing the Leader in You”. For 3 years Doug was host of the international motivational radio show “Smarter by the Minute.”
Doug understands sales. Prior to starting a consulting and training business, he worked in the residential real estate industry for 16 years. He began as a licensed salesman at 21 years old with zero credibility in the business (at that point, he had never owned real estate, yet he attempted to advise people on the biggest purchase of their lives!). It took 7 months to make his first sale. But he stuck with it and at age 28, based on his sales success, his trade association recognized him with a Life Membership in the Million Dollar Club. He was the youngest recipient. He later owned and operated one of the largest residential real estate brokerages in New Orleans, giving him practical, hands-on experience in sales management, teambuilding, leadership, marketing, and understanding human behavior.
Doug is a Certified Behavioral Analyst and uses scientifically designed assessment instruments to help organizations select, develop, and retain exceptional people who are passionate about their work. In 1998 the National Speakers Association awarded him their highest earned designation, Certified Speaking Professional, an honor held by less than 9% of the 4,000 members.
